Dr McKay, practising from his home, Lansdowne House in Long Street, established the Lansdowne Surgery in the 1920’s. That house was originally the town house of the Lansdowne family from Bowood.
We moved to Waiblingen Way in 1985. We named the surgery the Lansdowne Surgery to maintain continuity. This new surgery was designed to provide all clinical facilities at ground floor level and to allow easy access for the disabled.
The surgery was extended in 1994 and again in 1997 to provide more consulting rooms and additional space for our rapidly expanding Primary Care Team. We refurbished the treatment room and provided disability facilities in 2002.
